SOME THERAPIES AVAILABLE TO YOU

Different issues need different approaches. We'll ensure that we use the appropriate tools for you. Here is some information about well researched and effective therapy methods that might be of help to you.

POSITIVE SUGGESTION

In your state of deep relaxation, you can be given positive suggestions which will help you to reach your goals and to make changes more easily. Sounds simple? It is! We will help you to reach and maintain a comfortable level of relaxation so that this method can be most beneficial to you. This is the simplest and yet very effective type of hypnotherapy. Positive suggestion can help you to change your habits, to increase your confidence, to raise your self esteem and to deepen you level of calmness.

GUIDED VISUALISATION

Guided visualization helps you make that important breakthrough step of stopping your focus on what you DON’T want, and starting your focus on what you do want.  What is the difference between the two statements below:
I would like to be relaxed and confident when I give the presentation
I hope I am not nervous when I give the presentation
The second statement keeps you focused on what you don’t want – giving even more power to feeling nervous.  Positive visualization helps you to experience how you do actually want to be feeling, thinking, acting and interacting with others.  Hypnotherapy will allow you to fully build the positive picture and then start believing it…

FEAR AND PHOBIA CURE

Systematic Desensitisation is an evidence based Behavioural approach that has a long history of effectiveness.  We develop a fear or phobia for many reasons, but one of the ways we strengthen our fear is by learning to avoid the phobic object.
Hypnosis, incorporating Systematic Desensitisation can effectively treat many simple phobias by working through the origins of your anxiety in a relaxed and controlled way.  Then, you can quickly learn to break the links between the phobic object or situation and your fear, replacing this fear with more comfortable and natural feelings.

Often, simple phobias can be reduced or eliminated in just one or two sessions, and hypnotherapy links with your own imagination so that you do not have the inconvenience  of working with the actual phobic object (often very difficult to find once we are looking for it!)

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based talking therapy developed in the 1960’s and widely used today.  It has been well researched and measured and is proven effective, often being the treatment style of choice in both public and private health sectors.
CBT is a more dynamic and practical approach than counselling.  It is helpful for issues such as anxiety, depression, panic attacks, phobias, interview, exam and public speaking nerves, stress, anger issues, relationship issues and low confidence.
It works by helping you to make sense of problems by breaking them down into smaller parts.  We will work with you to look first at the situation, then at how you are responding to it through your thinking, feeling, actions and emotions.
CBT is a solution-focused therapy, creating a set of tools that you will use in the future for many different situations.  In other words, priming you for a realistically happier and calmer way of being.

REGRESSION WORK

One of the longest used techniques of hypnotherapy is regression therapy, based on psychodynamic theory, which proposes that our past experiences, particularly those that we have tried to forget, can be having an impact on our current experience.
Your therapist has been specifically trained in Regression work and has a long catalogue of experience working with clients who are seeking to understand the origins of their thoughts and feelings.  This work is usually long term, and incorporates psychotherapy alongside the hypnosis work, as ongoing support to process your new awareness.
